Here is a gentle mantra that Ian led us in - unusual for us but very well-received.,  Finding a posture that is comfortable and sends the message to your mind/body that this is your time.  Breathe gently and compassionately...feeling the breath in the body, then gently saying to yourself:

Here I am 
Softening
Opening
Releasing
Letting go
Letting be
Being at ease with myself.

If you liked that one, you could try this mantra, also devised by Ian:

Breathing in ... I AM here!= (Statement or affirmation)  Breathing in... I am here= (ownership)
Breathing in...my mind is calming
Breathing in...my mind is clearing
Breathing in...my body is relaxing 
Breathing in...my mind is calm
Breathing in...my mind is clear
Breathing in...my body is relaxed
Breathing in...calm mind
Breathing in...clear mind
Breathing in...relaxed body
