Mindfulness
|
Due to changes in Tim's job, he will be moving on from W Yorkshire in the summer. As the group is positive and has had a significant impact the Monday night group will be taking over the reins - watch this space for more info.
Our next meeting will be on Monday 26th Feb at Kirkheaton Community Centre where we will meet together and have two practices as usual. It's a good place to be whether we are in need of some mindfulness or just want to practice together. We start at 7.30pm and will finish by 9pm (but probably before then!) Jane will lead both practices. We tap into a variety of mindfulness traditions from people like Tara Brach, Jon Kabbatt Zinn and Bangor university. The practice of pausing, for example, comes from Mark Williams' and Danny Penman's book, Deeper Mindfulness. Here is the link to all the practices - Many thanks to Mark and Danny for being so generous with their work. We are a friendly group and you are welcome to come along or if you want to join via Zoom, contact me for the link. Here is the gentle mantra Ian led us in one week - very well-received by us all:
TBA but due to work commitments I am not sure I will have time to lead one of these in the near future. Similarly, I'm not sure when the next course will be but Monday evenings are regular moments of mindfulness and are a permanent part of our routine. Here is the book we base our courses on: Finding Peace in a Frantic World by Mark Williams and Danny Penman. It really is a very good book giving you all the information you need. We find that people thoroughly enjoy the courses because it gives them a framework and discipline to practice what keeps them on an even keel. Get in touch if you want to come on the course or want to know more. |
